Katrina is running a Masterclass for Arvon on Tuesday 9 February 2021 from 7-9 pm, online. The theme is ‘Giving Your Poetry Some Oomph’.
Ready to up your game? Join this masterclass where we’ll read and write poems that demand to be noticed. We’ll look at risk-taking poems, those with a generous dash of flamboyance, poems laced with sparky ideas, outstanding titles and gorgeous last lines. Writers at all stages welcome.
The Masterclass costs £35. Arvon often have bursaries for those on low incomes – don’t be afraid to ask.
Katrina Naomi received an Authors’ Foundation award from the Society of Authors for her third full collection, Wild Persistence, (Seren, 2020). Katrina has published four pamphlets of poetry, including the Japan-themed Typhoon Etiquette (Verve Poetry Press, 2019). Her poetry has appeared on Poems on the Underground, as well as Radio 4’sFront Row and Poetry Please. Katrina was the first poet-in-residence at the Brontë Parsonage Museum and was highly commended in the 2017 Forward Prize for Poetry. She has a PhD in creative writing from Goldsmiths, and tutors for Arvon, Tŷ Newydd and the Poetry School.
